Binging behaviour
Young people and the culture of compensation
Binge drinking amongst young Australians is a rite of passage and a point of pride. It is unlikely to be diminished no matter what educational campaigns or initiatives any government may introduce.
Anyone past their youth approaches their wellbeing with an ethos of moderation. Everything is okay for the body in limited quantities. It is fine to indulge but not to overly do so. Adults see their moderate approach as being responsible and mature.
